If you want a custom designed website, designers need to start from scratch or modify an existing theme. This will cost you higher. Most popular platforms are WordPress, Joomla, magento, Drupal etc.

Website Content: The content that your visitor will see and attract them must be well written keeping in mind the customer psychology and target audiences. If you provide this, better else hiring a copywriter would cost more.

Maintenance Cost: Most web design companies provide free maintenance for a limited period of time after your website is handed over to you. After that period, they will charge a price for various tasks needed to maintain the website.
